About SACCS

A few words from Mary Walsh, Chief Executive of SACCS

Our aim has always been to give children a voice and to help prepare them for the future. Our work is dedicated to helping children recover from the trauma imposed on them, and we recognise that for this to happen, the right combination of love, understanding, appropriate boundaries and therapeutic care is necessary.

SACCS was established in 1987 and initially our work was focused on children who had experienced sexual abuse. We have now evolved to offer a much broader range of childcare services, supported by a committed team of highly skilled professionals.

In addition to our services for children, we have also dedicated ourselves to promoting the knowledge and skills of a wide range of professionals who hold the welfare of children in their hands, with an integrated programme of training and development, and the organisation continues to be innovative. We pioneered the creative use of toys, art, books and stories in communicating with children.

Over the years, SACCS has developed into a leading provider of childcare services by recognising that the child's needs always come first.
