About Mary Walsh

about_mary_walsh.jpgMary Walsh is the Chief Executive of SACCS, an organisation she co-founded in 1987. With a social work background, Mary's expertise is in child protection, play therapy and communicating with the victims of sexual abuse.    She heads a company providing a full range of integrated interventions leading to recovery for children whose behaviours have resulted in multiple placement breakdown.

Mary is a significant contributor to the social and political debate on the care and recovery of looked after children, as a member of the Social Care Institute for Excellence Partners' Council and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Children under the auspices of the National Children's Bureau (NCB).

Under Mary's leadership, SACCS has launched the first ever UK foundation degree in Therapeutic ChildCare, and is publishing a series of books on the organisation’s unique practice.The SACCS approach to this extraordinary work is both complex and highly resilient, delivering measurable recovery for the most vulnerable children.
