Family Placement

Overview

SACCS Family Placement, is part of SACCS Care.  We are the family placement arm of SACCS, and aim to be the placement of choice for children placed in our residential homes.  SACCS Family Placement was developed in 1995 out of our experience of working residentially with young, traumatised children.

From this work we began to understand that we needed to develop a range of highly specialised services/resources and skills if these children and young people were to be able to feel safe enough to live successfully within a family.

In essence, we are the final part of the Recovery process and work alongside our colleagues in SACCS Care.  We are the service that consolidates and establishes recovery for our children and young people.  Our aim is to make families safe and secure again for these traumatised children.

Our carers have the benefit of extensive and readily available support provided by professional social work staff within the agency.  This has been complemented by a closely linked team of consultants, therapists and life story workers.

These services, both singularly and in combination, significantly increase the likelihood of successful outcomes for individual children and young people.  In addition they provide the basis on which our foster carers become increasingly skilled and confident, as they become the therapeutic resource for the child.
