Case Work

From the beginning of the child's placement there is a clear and structured approach to the work that will take place with the child. Before placement a Placement Plan will be provided by the Local Authority and agreed by SACCS. This broadly defines the aims of the placement.

The plan is reviewed at Statutory Case Reviews chaired by the Local Authority after the first month, three months and then every six months.

The Recovery Team will carry out an in-depth assessment of the child's needs and develop an Individual Recovery Plan that will cover all aspects of work. This plan will be developed during the first month and reviewed in line with the Case Review Time Scales.

There is an extensive and specialised staff structures and process that supports and enables this work:

  • Team meetings enabling Recovery Teams to work together
  • Individual Supervision for each staff member with a Senior Worker or Manager
  • Team and Individual Consultancy with a qualified Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist or Clinical Psychologist
  • Internal and External Staff Training to support general and specialised aspects of the task
  • Therapeutic Parenting meeting to provide an opportunity for the recovery team to develop and review their understanding of the child's Internal Working model. This understanding will underpin all work especially the Individual Recovery Plan.
